Classical soprano singer Lara Maigue sang the Philippine National Anthem during the second State of the Nation Address (SONA) of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. at Batasang Pambansa on Monday.
Donned in her beige Filipiniana terno, Maigue performed her own rendition of "Lupang Hinirang."
She was earlier tagged as the "surprise" singer of the Philippine national anthem in SONA.
Maigue is a Filipino classically trained soprano and songwriter who has won several awards, including the 2017 Aliw Awards for Best Classical Performer and the 2018 Aliw Awards for Best Female Crossover Performer.
Maigue was among the performers for ‘To Broadway with Love’, a 2-night sold-out concert at the Esplanade concert hall with the Singapore Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Maestro Gerard Salonga.
