National Security Adviser (NSA) Clarita Carlos on Monday visited the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) Headquarters in Port Area, Manila as part of her routine visits to different agency members of the National Security Council (NSC).
In a statement to reporters, PCG spokesman Commodore Armand Balilo said Carlos was given a briefing on the operations of their agency as well as the patrol operations in Benham Rise, West Philippine Sea, Southern Philippine, Bajo Masinloc, and Kalayaan Island Group.
"During the courtesy visit, CG Admiral Abu shared the PCG’s commitment to ensure the territorial integrity of our country, and maintain peace and order toward economic prosperity and progress," Balilo said.
Carlos, meanwhile, has yet to issue her specific guidelines on the PCG operations in the West Philippine Sea.
