The remains of missing beauty queen Geneva Sarita Lopez and her Israeli fiance Yitshak Cohen were found in Brgy. Sta. Lucia, Capas, Tarlac on early Saturday, July 6.
According to the initial report of the CIDG-Tarlac Provincial Forensic Unit, between 7:00 a.m. and 8:45 a.m. the bodies of the two were recovered in a remote quarry site.
The remains were confirmed by their relatives.
They were brought to Lutos Funeral in Brgy. San Vicente for its autopsy examination and DNA testing and analysis.
Lopez and Cohen were last seen on June 21 riding an SUV towards Tarlac for a transaction on a parcel of land in the province.
In the early morning of June 22, the SUV they were in was found burned and abandoned in Barangay Cristo Rey in Capas.
Seven people have been identified by the Philippine National Police as being involved in the case, one of them being the agent or middleman for the property the couple is allegedly purchasing.
