One of the most beloved musicals in history is making a grand return to Manila.
Cameron Mackintosh, in association with Nick Grace Management and GMG Productions, has officially announced that Les Misérables: World Tour Spectacular will be staged at The Theatre at Solaire beginning January 20, 2026, for a strictly limited run until February 15, 2026.
The production arrives in Manila as part of its ongoing global tour, coinciding with the show’s approaching 40th anniversary at London’s Sondheim Theatre.
A reimagined take on Boublil and Schönberg’s iconic musical, this new staging promises to deliver an epic theatrical experience on a scale never before seen in the Philippines.
Expanded from the widely acclaimed Les Misérables: The Staged Concert—which ran for over 200 performances in London’s West End—the World Tour Spectacular will feature a new set design, immersive lighting, and a cast and crew of over 110.
The ensemble includes an international all-star cast and musicians, including Filipino talent performing live on stage. Full casting will be announced soon.
Following its successful runs across the UK, Europe, and Australia—where it broke attendance records—the global tour now heads to Asia, with Manila as a major stop.
The musical features music by Claude-Michel Schönberg, lyrics by Herbert Kretzmer, and a libretto by Alain Boublil and Jean-Marc Natel, based on Victor Hugo’s classic novel. It is directed by James Powell and Jean-Pierre Van Der Spuy, with set design by Matt Kinley, lighting by Paule Constable and Warren Letton, and music supervision by Stephen Brooker and Alfonso Casado Trigo.
Tickets will go on sale to the public starting August 11 via TicketWorld. Early access is available from August 4 to 7 through UnionBank of the Philippines, the official bank sponsor and pre-sale partner for GMG Productions' 2025 season. Fans may also join the waitlist via www.gmg-productions.com.
