A lawmaker came to President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s defense on Thursday, May 8, stating that the impeachment complaint filed against the latter is a publicity stunt.
In an ambush interview with reporters, Tingog Partylist Rep. Jude Acidre stated that there is insufficient time for politicians to discuss the impeachment complaint against Marcos. Moreover, RH 12 Milky Rigonan reported that only six session days remain for June.

Its a publicity stunt
They want a clincher for the Duterte Youth “ @dzrhnews
The impeachment complaint against Marcos was filed earlier today by former National Youth Commission Chairman Ronald Cardema and his wife, former Congresswoman Marie Cardema. It was endorsed by the Duterte Youth partylist.
The articles of impeachment against the former cited the violation of accountability of public officers and the Rules of Procedure in the Impeachment Process under the 19th Congress.
According to the report, Acidre firmly said that the complaint is a publicity stunt by the couple to gain traction for the Duterte Youth Partylist.
House Secretary Reginald Velasco was not present to receive a copy of the complaint.
Meanwhile, several political aspirants and officials from various political parties in the area gathered at the Tacloban Astrodome today, in support of the Alyansa Para sa Bagong Pilipinas senatorial slate.
