A verified impeachment complaint was filed against President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. before the House of Representatives on Thursday.
The impeachment complaint was endorsed by the Duterte Youth Party-list, led by former National Youth Commission Chair Ronald Cardema and his wife, former Congresswoman Marie Cardema.
It was stated in the complaint that President Marcos allegedly violated provisions under Article XI, Sections 2 and 3 of the 1987 Philippine Constitution, which pertain to the accountability of public officers, as well as the Rules of Procedure in Impeachment Proceedings.
Moreover, the complaint links Marcos to the supposed decision to allow the transfer of former President Duterte’s custody to foreign authorities.
RH Milky Rigonan reported that there is no confirmation yet whether House Secretary General Reginald Velasco has officially received the impeachment complaint.
