The Lagunsilad Underpass in Manila reopens to motorists today, Nov. 28, after six months of rehabilitation.
The Manila Public Information Office (PIO) announced the good news in an official Facebook post.
"Magbubukas na! Ang mas maayos na Lagusnilad Underpass ay magbubukas na sa publiko simula bukas, ika-28 ng Nobyembre, sa pakikipagtulungan ng Pamahalaang Lungsod ng Maynila at Kagawaran ng mga Pagawain at Lansangang Bayan," it captioned, sharing photos of the new and improved underpass.
Manila PIO also posted a sneak peek video containing drone shots of the newly-renovated major passageway.
The groundbreaking of Lagunsilad Underpass rehabilitation started in May this year, intending to repair its deteriorating condition and ensure that the road is safe for both motorists and commuters.
The major segway was officially closed to vehicles in June.
The Lagunsilad Underpass, which connects Lawton to Taft Avenue, was built during the term of then Manila Mayor Antonio Villegas in the 1960s.
