Kris Aquino shared her “pain and struggle” online, as she faces yet another bump in the road amid her health recovery in the Philippines.
On Tuesday, April 1, the Queen of All Media shared an Instagram reel of her recent health challenges. The former actress appealed to the public for continued prayers, stating she had been experiencing lupus flare for more than two weeks.
“This is MY NOW… I wanted you to see the pain and struggle so that you will continue to pray. I have a Lupus Flare fever now. It’s been more than 2 weeks,” she wrote in the caption.
According to the Lupus Foundation of America, a lupus flare or flare-up is when someone’s lupus symptoms worsen. Common symptoms include: ongoing fever, painful, swollen joints, rashes, general swelling in the legs, and increased fatigue.
The Instagram reel showed the TV personality suffering a high fever with high blood pressure. Her weight had also gone down to 37.3 kilos.
In the middle of the uploaded reel, Kris wrote, “Very Visible is my spine because there’s no fat. The area [where] my hand [is] is where many bone protrusions are.”

Aside from systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), Kris had also been diagnosed with Autoimmune Thyroiditis, Chronic Spontaneous Urticaria, Eosinophilic granulomatosis with polyangiitis (EGPA), Systemic Sclerosis, and Rheumatoid Arthritis.
In February, she made her first public appearance at People Asia’s People of the Year 2025 to support her close friend, Michael Leyva.
Her makeup artist, RB Chanco, penned a heartfelt message to the former actress after the latter glammed up for the event. RB stated how the former actress's public appearance was brief but deeply meaningful, adding that it is a sign that Kris is "still fighting" and "still moving forward."
Last month, she opened up about her “painful truth,” detailing her break-up with her ex-boyfriend and battle with multiple autoimmune diseases. Despite this, the TV personality underscored her appreciation for the people who remained by her side.
“When you are unconditionally loved, when, like me, you are blessed with a son who will do all to lessen his mama’s physical & emotional suffering - BAWAL SUMUKO,” she wrote.
