Despite battling several autoimmune diseases, Kris Aquino glammed up to make her first public appearance at People Asia’s People of the Year 2025, on Tuesday, February 25.
Before the public was surprised by the Queen of All Media’s first public appearance, she first went to her makeup artist, RB Chanco. In a heartfelt Facebook post on Wednesday, RB expressed her joy, as she did the former actress’ makeup for the first time in three years.
“After three years, I finally got to do her makeup again—something I had hoped for but feared might never happen. But last night, it did, and I couldn’t have been happier,” she wrote.
RB continued, “Kris is still very sick—frail, fragile, and fighting every day—which made every makeup product and brushstroke feel like a risk.”
The makeup artist pointed out Kris’ severe allergies and flares, stating she felt terrified that the products might trigger a reaction. She added that the former actress has not worn makeup since her health had declined.
By some miracle, the makeup artist said that the reaction was minimal, and “that alone was a huge relief.”
“Her appearance was brief but deeply meaningful—a sign that she’s still here, still fighting, still moving forward,” RB expressed.
“Despite everything, she made her first public appearance since becoming very ill. The real queen, the Kris we all love and miss, is still here—stronger than we know. And maybe, just maybe, this is the start of something more,” she added.
Kris delighted her fans at her first public appearance on Tuesday, to support her close friend, Michael Leyva, whom she accompanied during the event.
Based on the photos and videos shared by Cornerstone Entertainment, the Queen of All Media arrived with her son, Bimby.
She donned a bright yellow blouse that matched her face mask, a bedazzled fuschia pink blazer, and a floral maxi skirt.

Kris has been battling several autoimmune diseases since 2018 and previously flew to the United States to get medical attention. In September 2024, she confirmed that she would be flying home to the Philippines.
In her most recent Instagram post, the showbiz personality clarified that she is not yet “fit to work,” and is still underweight. However, she assured fans that she would continue to fight and has no intention of giving up.
