Kris Aquino opened up about her “painful truth” while battling multiple autoimmune diseases in an Instagram post on Sunday.
In a health update, the Queen of All Media shared that her rheumatologist tried ultrasound-assisted targeted steroid shots on her knees on Saturday evening. She mentioned that her body had reacted the way it did when they tried the treatment 34 months ago. At a time of uncertainty, Kris opened up to her followers on social media to share her “painful truth.”
“The doctor I loved left me because he wanted the freedom to travel, to break free from needing to care for & the reality of KRIS AQUINO who had multiplying autoimmune diseases w/ (with) so few treatment options. Enough time has passed: he did not love me,” she wrote in the caption.
Kris also clarified that the doctor had received the correct professional fees, even when they were a couple. The former actress continued, stating that it is now the end of that chapter and that she was never afraid to confess the truth.
“The TRUTH, in his words ”INIWAN KITA DAHIL MAHIRAP KANG MAHALIN, sobrang sikip ng paligid”- my prayer is that he will now STOP trash talking & cursing my best friends and doctors who are still doing all they can to improve my quality of life, proving everyday genuine love, compassion & loyalty,” she wrote.
Despite this, the former actress said she now weighs less than 80 lbs, 36 kilos to be exact.
“I cannot walk, each step is agony. The excruciating pain is from my knees all the way to my feet, a combination of deep bone pain (lupus arthritis, Polymyositis, and acute fibromyalgia),” she said.
However, the reason why she wanted to share her current reality is because she wants to give hope. According to the TV personality, “When you are unconditionally loved, when like me you are blessed with a son who will do all to lessen his mama’s physical & emotional suffering - HINDI KA SUSUKO.”
“TINITIIS ko yung matinding sakit na parte na ng bawat araw ko dahil ang pagmamahal ng anak ay walang katumbas,” she added.

The actress also expressed her gratitude to everyone who had been praying for her healing, and her “northern star” Bimby.
Last month, Kris appeared before the public for the first time in three years. She made a short public appearance at the People Asia’s People of the Year 2025, to support her close friend, Michael Leyva.
