Actor Kit Thompson has been released from detention on Monday afternoon after posting bail in connection with charges filed against him for beating his girlfriend, actress Ana Jalandoni, a police official confirmed.
According to reports, Tagaytay City Chief of Police PLtCol Rolando Baula said the 25-year-old actor posted bail worth P72,00 and was released the same day at 5 PM.
The actor was arrested in Tagaytay City last Friday, March 18, after local police received reports that he allegedly assaulted Jalandoni inside a hotel room.
The following day, the Philippine National Police filed a complaint against Thompson for violation of Section 5 (a) of the Republic Act 9262 or the Anti-Violence against Women and Children Act.
In a post, Jalandoni shared photos of her bruised face, adding that she will release an official statement soon.
Thompson and Jalandoni went public about their relationship in December last year.
