Southwest monsoon or habagat is expected to weaken as Tropical Depression Ineng, known by its international name Yun-Yeung, left the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) on Wednesday morning, according to the state weather bureau.

In its 5 AM bulletin, PAGASA said it tracked the center of Ineng at 1,240 kilometers (km) east northeast of Extreme Northern Luzon, outside PAR.

Ineng has 55 km per hour (kph) winds and 70 kph gusts while moving north northeastward at 20 kph speed.

The state weather bureau said the tropical depression will gradually intensify while it continues traveling north northeastward or northeastward towards the sea south of mainland Japan.

"Tropical Depression INENG is not directly affecting the country, although it and the remnants of HAIKUI are still slightly enhancing the Southwest Monsoon," PAGASA said.

In the next three days, western portions of Northern and Central Luzon may experience occasional rains.

Gusty conditions, meanwhile, will prevail over Batanes and the provinces of Ilocos.

The state weather bureau said it forecasted that the southwest monsoon continue to weaken within the week as remnants of Haikui diminish strength over China and Ineng head away from the country.
