Tropical Depression Auring has officially exited the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) and has weakened into a low-pressure area (LPA), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) reported on early Friday.

As of 5 a.m., the center of the eye was seen 580 kilometers North Northwest of Itbayat, Batanes.

According to PAGASA weather forecaster Dan Villamil, although the LPA is now outside PAR, it may still bring cloudy skies and scattered rain showers over Batanes.

Meanwhile, the Southwest Monsoon or Habagat has significantly weakened, resulting in reduced rainfall in many areas. However, it will still affect parts of the Ilocos Region and Babuyan Islands, where isolated thunderstorms may still occur.

The easterlies, or warm winds coming from the Pacific Ocean, are also expected to bring a higher chance of rain today.

In Metro Manila and the rest of the country, improving weather conditions are expected today, following the weakening of both the Southwest Monsoon and easterlies.

Nonetheless, there remains a chance of sudden, brief rain showers or thunderstorms, particularly in the afternoon and evening.

No gale warnings have been issued for any Philippine coastal waters. However, PAGASA still advises caution for those setting out to sea, especially in the northern and western seaboards of Northern Luzon, as moderate to rough sea conditions may still be experienced in those areas.
