The Iglesia Ni Cristo's (INC) "National Rally for Peace" was generally peaceful, with no untoward incidents reported, despite over 1,000 medical cases recorded, according to the Philippine National Police (PNP).
In a report by RH Edniel Parrosa, a total of 1,162 people required medical assistance during the event, which took place on Monday, January 13.
Some of the patients reportedly experienced dizziness, high blood pressure, asthma, and other ailments.
Citing the PNP's report, over 8,000 police officers were deployed nationwide to ensure security during the activity.
The INC's peace rally expressed support for President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.'s statement urging lawmakers not to file impeachment complaints against Vice President Sara Duterte, calling such actions a "waste of time" that would distract from addressing the country's real issues.
Meanwhile, the Vice President expressed her gratitude to the INC for advocating for a "united" nation.
