Filipino singer-songwriter Ice Seguerra confirmed on Friday, June 27, that his mother, Mommy Caring, has passed away.
In an Instagram post, he announced that he and his family said goodbye to “the most amazing woman” he’s ever known at 7:54 AM today.
Mourning the loss of his mother, Ice remembered Mommy Caring as having lived a full and beautiful life. To him, his mother was always present, strong, kind, and funny in her own quiet way.
“Mula bata pa ako hanggang ngayon, she never left my side. Every show, every gig, every milestone, she was there. She was always present,” Ice wrote. “Papadalhan ako ng mga paborito kong pagkain, masahe kapag masakit ang ulo ko. She made sure she was there kahit may sarili na kaming mga buhay. Walang palya.”
His mother was not just supportive of him as an artist, but also for who he is. Despite his shortcomings, Ice said his mother accepted and embraced him fully.
“She was my first teacher, my constant cheerleader. My rock. Losing her this morning feels like losing a part of myself. Pero promise ko sa iyo diba, mama, brave ako. Ikaw ang nagturo sa akin kung paano maging matatag sa harap ng mga sakit na binabato ng buhay. I won’t fail you. Promise ko yun,” he expressed.

Caring is survived by Ice and his brother, Juan Carlos Miguel.
The cause of death was not revealed. However, details about Caring’s wake will be shared later today.
The singer-songwriter asked the public for prayers and love for his family, especially his mother.
“Salamat po sa lahat ng nakasama namin sa buhay niya. Salamat sa lahat ng nagmahal at tinuturing din siyang nanay. You all made her very happy,” he wrote.
“We’ll miss you forever, Mama. Pero magkasama na kayo ni Daddy. And that gives me comfort,” he added.
