The country’s biggest names in entertainment and social media lent their voices to the clamor for accountability as they joined thousands of Filipinos in the Trillion Peso March on Sunday, September 21, 2025 at the EDSA Shrine and EDSA People Power Monument.
The mass protest, which marked the anniversary of the declaration of Martial Law, called for transparency in government spending amid revelations of anomalous multi-billion-peso flood control projects.
Celebrities and Influencers on the Streets
Among those spotted were Vice Ganda, Anne Curtis, Donny Pangilinan, Iza Calzado, Catriona Gray, Darren Espanto, Ivana Alawi, Mika Salamanca, Julia Barreto, members of Team Payaman and a wave of social media influencers who amplified the march on their platforms. Many arrived in white and black shirts fighting with slogans like “Pass sa Kurakot”, “Manindigan, Lumaban, Makialam”, “Ibalik niyo ang pera ng taumbayan”.
Vice Ganda’s Fiery Speech
In a short moment that amplified the voices of the rallyist, Vice Ganda took the stage at the People Power Monument, delivering a powerful speech.
“Hindi ko sisimplehan, hindi ko babaitan ang salita ko ngayon dahil hindi naman sila mababait. Sa katanuyan mga hay*p sila. So bakit natin babaitan ang mensahe na ito?,” the comedian stated.
“Hindi natin kakalmahan ang salita at kilos natin dahil deserve nila ang galit, pikon, at poot ng mga nanakawang Pilipino. Hindi tayo kakalma,” Vice Ganda added.
The comedian’s message drew cheers and chants from the crowd “Ikulong na ‘yan, mga kurakot”.
The Trillion Peso March is a testament to the people’s desire to be heard and seen. With celebrities livestreaming and influencers amplifying the message, the protest captured the imagination of millions beyond the streets.
