World No. 2 pole vaulter Ernest John Obiena is not yet done with his journey, as he vowed to continue making the country proud following his fourth-place finish in the recently concluded 2024 Paris Olympics.

“I am back in training, I am back in the game, and I am going to attack the rest of the season and make you proud,” Obiena said in a Facebook post on Tuesday.

The Filipino pole vaulter assured his fellow countrymen that they will see "more" from him. Obiena vowed to raise and waive the Philippine flag once again on a global stage.

He then expressed his gratitude to his supporters, noting that he feels blessed to be cherished by the country that raised him.

Obiena stated that an individual's worth or value isn't determined by a single event, such as an Olympic competition. Instead, it is assessed through their overall body of work and achievements over time.

"I finished 4th in Paris, close but not good enough. I am not measured by this. I am measured by my career," said Obiena.

Obiena finished fourth in this year’s Summer Olympics and set a new personal record by clearing 5.90 meters.
