The House of Representatives on Thursday released the copy of the travel clearance granted to Negros Oriental 3rd District Rep. Arnolfo "Arnie" Teves Jr. amid his alleged involvement in the killing of former Negros Oriental governor Roel Degamo.
In the clearance dated February 27, House Speaker Martin Romualdez approved the leave of Teves from February 28 to March 9 for his personal trip to the United States of America (USA).
The last day of his leave expires today.
Earlier, one of the arrested suspects had revealed that Teves was the mastermind who gave them the orders to take down the former governor.
The suspect disclosed that they were initially hired as VIP security personnel and had no idea they would kill Degamo.
Prior to this, the Philippine National Police - Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (PNP-CIDG) filed murder complaints before the Department of Justice (DOJ) against Teves and five others in connection to the killings perpetuated in Negros Oriental back in 2019.
