Representatives moved to summon several significant individuals into the comprehensive investigation regarding illegal activities linked to the Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator (POGO) on Wednesday, July 18.
In the conducted joint committee hearing of the House committees on Public Order and Safety and Games and Amusements, Lanao del Sur 1st District Representative Zia Alonto Adiong moved to invite Former Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque for further questioning of his connections with Lucky South 99.
The motion was approved alongside the request to invite former Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) Chairperson Andrea Domingo and Former Executive Director of Technology and Livelihood Resource Center Dennis Cunanan, who was believed to be the authorized representative for POGOs in Bamban, Tarlac and Porac, Pampanga.
Businesswoman Cassandra Li Ong, who was noted to be the romantic partner of suspended Bamban Mayor Alice Guo's brother, will also be called to attend the subsequent hearing.
The next committee hearing aims to shed light on the alleged meeting that occurred last year between PAGCOR Chair Alejandro Tengco, PAGCOR Overseas Gaming Licensing Division head Jessa Fernandez, Harry Roque, and Cassandra Ong.
Previously, the PAGCOR Chief revealed documents pointing to Roque as the legal head of Lucky South 99, the recently-raided POGO in Porac, Pampanga.
Furthermore, Leyte 4th District Representative Richard Gomez moved to invite the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) and telecommunication companies in the country for the probe.
"I would like to move to invite the major telcos even the small internet service providers in this committee hearing," Gomez said.
