The House of Representatives will be conducting the start of its motu proprio investigation into the illegal games and crimes linked to the Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator (POGO), a representative confirmed on Monday.

Santa Rosa City Representative and House Committee on Public Order and Safety Chairperson Dan Fernandez mentioned that the focus of the probe will be on illegal activities connected to unlicensed POGOs in the country.

The probe will not fully dwell on the case of suspended Bamban Mayor Alice Guo because the committee believes that details on this case are already available.

The probe follows the order of House Speaker Martin Romualdez to conduct a comprehensive investigation into the illegal elements surrounding POGOs and determine the people behind it.

Several government agencies were invited to attend the probe including the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR), National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC), League of Cities of the Philippines, and Leagues of Municipalities of the Philippines.
