Sasiporn Wongtapha scored 18 points and Supavadee Kunchuan added 12 points to pace the Thais in their second loss in four outings.
The Filipinas earned their first win in the tournament after beating Malaysia, 74-63, but they failed to continue the momentum and fell to Japan, 85-83.
Gilas Women also fell to the Chinese Taipei - White squad, 73-60, in the opening day of the tournament.
The Filipinas team will seek to wrap up their campaign with a win when they face Chinese Taipei - Blue on Wednesday, July 9.
