Advertising agency behind the controversial street sign ‘Gil Tulog’ in Makati extended their apologies to the individuals who got offended by their marketing campaign, primarily the Puyat family.

"We sincerely apologize to the Puyat family and everyone affected by our campaign," Gigil said in their official statement on Tuesday.

Gigil stated that they recognize the issues caused by their recent campaign.

The agency admitted that their approach had resonated differently, despite obtaining necessary permits and clearances, leading to its discontinuation.

"Understanding the distress the project caused, we have personally reached out to the members of the Puyat family to convey our regrets and express our respect for former Senate President Gil Puyat’s legacy," Gigil said.

They assured that more stringent measures will be employed to make sure that this incident will be prevented from happening again.

On July 25, the street sign in Makati became viral leaving netizens and motorists with mixed reactions which also placed the city Mayor Abby Binay in a tight spot.

Wellspring, the melatonin brand, then issued a public apology the following day for the ‘insensitive’ campaign which gained traction.
