The administration of St. Catherine of Alexandria Parish in Tayum, Abra launched a fund drive for the church restoration after it was heavily damaged by the magnitude 7 earthquake on Wednesday.
In a report by RH5 Val Gonzales on DZRH’s Rapido Hataw Balita, Reverend Father Faruela, parish priest of St. Catherine, said they are open for donors who wish to help the rebuilding of the 19th-century Baroque church.
The parish priest presided over the meeting for the church rebuilding plans. It was attended by officials from the Diocese of Bangued, some groups, and residents who recognize the historical value of the Church.
Fr. Faruela said one of the plans they all agreed to is getting the service of an instructional engineer for the proper assessment of the Church’s integrity.
He said they are also planning to conduct a face-to-face to ask for donations.
The Parish priest said those who are willing to donate can directly go to their parish office or call the number of Rolando Leonez, their Parish Pastoral Council President: 09618381970 or 09274610722.
