"Ipagdasal niyo si President Duterte, for his safety."
In an exclusive interview aired on DZRH News, former Executive Secretary Salvador "Bingbong" Medialdea called on Filipinos to pray for the safety of former President Rodrigo Duterte after they were swiftly escorted onto a plane.
When asked about their destination, Medialdea gave a cryptic response: "Nasa eroplano na kami. Pa-take off na sa impyerno."
As of writing, the plane carrying Duterte and Medialdea was still on the tarmac of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA). The plane was reportedly bound for The Hague, Netherlands.
Prior to boarding the plane, the former Executive Secretary said they were led to believe that lawyers would be accompanying them, only to find out otherwise.
"Hindi ko kilala kung sino ang kasama. Nabudol din kami. Sabi may mga kasamang abogado, hindi naman kami pinayagan," Medialdea said.
Despite the former President's arrest, Medialdea said they remain resolute: "Hindi natin alam kung gaano katagal itong storya na ito, but buo naman ang kalooban namin na makakabalik kami."
"Wala naman siyang ginawang kasalanan. Wala siyang kasalanan," the former Executive Secretary stressed.
"Pangalawa, hindi siya binigyan ng tamang proseso para maifile sa kasong ito. ‘Yun lang po, ipagdasal niyo na lang siya," he added.
