The public can enjoy free train rides on the Light Rail Transit Line 2 (LRT-2) and Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (MRT-3) today, December 30, in observance of Rizal Day.

In an announcement posted by the Department of Transportation (DOTr) on Sunday, it was stated that the free rides are offered as a way of commemorating the heroism of Dr. Jose Rizal.

The fare is free on the mentioned train lines during the following hours:

• 7:00 am - 9:00 am
• 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm

The first train of the LRT-2 will depart from Recto Station and Antipolo Station at 5:00 AM. Meanwhile, the last train will depart from Antipolo Station at 9:00 PM and from Recto Station at 9:30 PM.
