The FPJ Panday Bayanihan Partylist, in collaboration with the Legal Aid Society of the Philippines (LASP), has launched a free legal aid initiative to assist those in need of legal support.
The program, known as Legal Aid Clinic 2024, will offer free legal services to qualified individuals facing criminal charges, to facilitate access to justice for the underprivileged.
The Legal Aid Clinic will operate every Friday on November 8, 15, 22, 29, and December 6 and 13, at the LASP office on Engracia Reyes St., Ermita, Manila, near Robinsons Ermita Padre Faura. Services will be available from 8:30 am to 11:30 am.
Brian Poe Llamanzares, the first nominee of FPJ Panday Bayanihan, underscored the significance of this partnership, emphasizing that justice is a core mission of the organization.
"Justice is the third pillar of our organization,” Llamanzares stated. "This is just the beginning, and we hope that more groups will support the Legal Aid Society in their efforts to aid our fellow countrymen and women in need."
Individuals interested in availing of the legal services are encouraged to pre-register online at [https://forms.gle/Mt4G676dqGLriRim9 (https://forms.gle/Mt4G676dqGLriRim9) for priority service.
Joseph Migriño, Executive Director of LASP, expressed his support for the partnership, highlighting the alignment of goals between the two organizations.
"We always struggle to find partners who share the same advocacy on access to justice," Migriño said.
"So when we talked to Brian thoroughly, we realized that we are not alone in the desire for a significant change in the field of justice for everyone," he added.
Founded by Senator Grace Poe, the partylist emphasizes that justice is vital for national progress.
