Fnatic ONIC PH secured their place in MPL Philippines history by breaking the tournament's win streak record with a remarkable 12-0 standing.
The historic record was established after the team's victory over RSG Philippines on the night of September 29, concluding their Week 7 campaign in the MPL Philippines Season 14 regular season.
With their 12 consecutive wins, ONIC shattered the previous 11-win streak record held by Blacklist International and Echo Philippines from Season 8 and Season 12.
In Game 1, FNOP dominated the match led by Duanne 'Kelra' Pillas, who played Harith and achieved a flawless record of 3 kills and 2 assists.
RSG came out with aggression in hopes of securing a match point, initially claiming the upper hand in Game 2.
Despite the struggle, FNOP ultimately sealed their historic win by wiping out RSG in 23 minutes of the game.
“Happy naman. Playoffs pa rin pinakamahalaga,” Anthony Senedrin, head coach of Fnatic ONIC PH, said during a press briefing.
“If we really want to make a statement, we really want to end the regular season strong,” he added.
ONIC PH is currently leading the tournament standings, with FCAP and Aurora Philippines in second and third place, respectively.
In the final week of the tournament, the team will attempt to continue their win streak in a matchup against Falcons AP Bren.
Fnatic ONIC PH, Falcons AP Bren, Aurora, Omega, and Team Liquid PH already secured their spots in the playoffs, leaving the final slot contested between Blacklist International and RSG PH.
