31-year-old Fay Asghari is the first ever Persian candidate to grace the runway for the 73rd Miss Universe pageant.
The Iranian-American model captioned her post on Instagram, stating how incredible her journey was—meeting and learning from so many beautiful and smart women. Her participation felt like a dream come true as it allows women from her country to shine on a global stage.

When she first immigrated to the United States of America, she had to relearn everything from scratch. Coming from a country with limited opportunities for women, Asghari was determined to build her way from the ground up.
In an interview with Authority Magazine, she shared her journey on the pursuit of her dreams and succeeding as an immigrant, despite the limitations in her home country. Now, she holds a double degree in Microbiology and Nursing Science, and is a recognized instructor and trainer for cosmetic procedures and treatments around the world.

She has also collaborated with world-renowned fashion designers, where she was featured as a guest on the runway for LA’s fashion week.
Asghari will compete alongside other candidates for the 73rd Miss Universe pageant in Mexico this coming September.
