The Philippine Women’s National Football Team secured a spot in the 2026 AFC Women’s Asian Cup after defeating Hong Kong, 1-0, on Saturday night at the Olympic Stadium in Cambodia.

Chandler McDaniel scored in the fourth minute to give the Filipinas an early lead. Olivia McDaniel made key saves, including a shot from Cheung Wai Ki in the 20th minute and another late in the match, to preserve the clean sheet.

The win completed a sweep for the Philippines in Group G of the qualifiers, following earlier victories over Saudi Arabia and Cambodia. The team finished with nine points and ten goals in total.

With the result, the Philippines joins Australia, China, South Korea, Japan, and Bangladesh as early qualifiers for the 2026 AFC Women’s Asian Cup. The tournament will also serve as the final qualifier for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Brazil.
