The family of murdered Misamis Occidental radio anchor Juan Jumalon, also known as DJ Johnny Walker, who was gunned down on November 5, will be receiving financial and educational assistance from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), according to Assistant Secretary Romel Lopez.

Lopez added that the financial aid worth P20,000, which was for Jumalon’s funeral and burial expenses, was already handed to the family by the social worker in the agency’s office in Northern Mindanao.

Moreover, Jumalon’s children will also receive educational assistance of P5,000 each, while the rest of the family will be assessed for their eligibility for DSWD’s Sustainable Livelihood Program.

Jumalon was shot dead by an unknown assailant during his live program, which was also streamed on Facebook, at his residence which is also the station for Gold FM 94.7.

The Philippine National Police (PNP) revealed the computerized composite sketch of one of the suspects, who was the other suspect’s lookout.
