The family of the Filipina who was arrested for "allegedly abandoning two corpses" in Tokyo, Japan appealed for help from President Ferdinand 'Bongbong' Marcos Jr. and concerned government offices.
Interviewed during DZRH Dos Por Dos on Tuesday, January 23, Maida Morales, the aunt of Hazel Ann Baguisa Morales, asked to help them to talk to Hazel through telephone call.
"Nananawagan kami sa lahat ng ahensya ng gobyerno, kahit kay Pangulo na sana matulungan kami. Ang hiling lang namin sa ngayon ay makausap namin over the phone si Hazel. Gusto lang naming malaman mula sa kanya kung ano talaga ang totoong nangyari. Sana ay matulungan po nila kami," Maida said.

On January 19, Japanese media Kyodo News reported that Tokyo police arrested Hazel, 30, for alleged abandonment of a couples' corpses in Adachi Ward.
Tokyo police reportedly found blood stains inside the house, suspecting that someone had attacked the couple.
"Investigators are looking into whether Morales had any trouble with the couple prior to their disappearance, as well as the causes of their deaths," the Japanese media outlet said.
As per Maida, Hazel is under police custody for investigation.
Hazel's mother, Maida, said they could not accept the arrest of her daughter, who lives in Japan for seven years and presently works as an assistant nurse.
"Sobrang matulungin kaya hindi namin matanggap ang nangyari sa kanya. Napakasakit sa magulang na husgahan [siya] na wala namang linaw na ebidensiya, pinapataw na parusa sa kanya na nababalita. Ganoon kasakit sa isang magulang 'yon," she said.
Sally said the slain Japanese couple were the parents of Hazel's current boyfriend.
She, however, said that Hazel hadn't paid a visit to her boyfriend's home and that the two had no arguments or fights.
"Araw-araw siyang nagvi-video call sa pamilya niya. Hindi siya nagpupunta sa bahay na 'yon [...] Hindi namin malaman kung paano siya napunta doon noong araw na 'yon. Wala siyang nabanggit na nag-away sila. Noong nakausap namin si Hazel, wala kang makikitaan na siya ay kinakabahan o balisa. Normal naman ang kanyang kilos. Kaya nagulat kami nang bigla naming marinig ang balita na hinuli siya," Sally said.
The family appealed to netizens to stop using Hazel's case for content on social media, especially on TikTok, saying that many stories were untrue.
"Ano bang purpose nila? Para kumita, para maging popular o sumikat? Sa halip, sana matulungan na lang kami na pagdasal ang kanilang kapwa Filipino. Huwag na nilang dagdagan ang sakit na nararamdaman namin dito. Araw-araw, iba ang nakikita namin na hindi naman totoo, na malayo sa character ni Hazel," Maida lamented.
