The Philippine Air Force (PAF) and the United States Pacific Air Forces (PACAF) conducted a combined air patrol over the West Philippine Sea on Tuesday, April 29.
The joint patrol was held as part of the 9th Multilateral Maritime Cooperative Activity (MMCA), a defense initiative between the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and the U.S. PACAF.
Participating air assets included three FA-50s from the Philippine Air Force, along with a B-1B bomber, and F-16 and F/A-18 jets from the United States.
This joint effort is intended to enhance coordination and strengthen interoperability between the AFP and its U.S. counterparts.
Through this activity, the PAF reaffirms its commitment and operational readiness to support the AFP’s mission of protecting the country’s territory and sovereign rights, while contributing to a secure and stable Indo-Pacific region.
Previously, the Philippines, United States, and Japan concluded their 8th MMCA in the West Philippine Sea, reaching as far east as Bajo de Masinloc.
