The remains of former Foreign Affairs Secretary Albert Del Rosario arrived in the Philippines on Saturday, according to his family.
Dr. Inge del Rosario, the late diplomat's daughter, said that the plane carrying her father's remains had already arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport at around 5:30 in the morning on Saturday.
She added that the patriot has returned to his beloved family and home.
Inge recalled her father's last hours, telling her that del Rosario suffered a massive heart attack while on a plane going to San Francisco, California, with his wife and son-in-law, Jay Inocentes.
She added that two doctors were on the same flight and tried to revive her dad, but the efforts "were to no avail."
Inge further mentioned that her father had come to America on short notice in the hopes of praying at a private devotion to the Lady of the Miraculous Medal.
Meanwhile, Del Rosario's wake will be held on Sunday, April 23, at the Santuario de San Antonio Chapels in Makati City, and the wake would be kept there until Monday.
He died at the age of 83.
