The long-awaited Eraserheads documentary is gracing the big screen this March and for one epic weekend only.
Eraserheads: Combo On the Run is making its nationwide premiere this March 21 to 23, providing a detailed portrait of the country’s most successful and iconic band. Warner Bros. Pictures announced the news on Monday, January 6.
“This is more than music—it’s their journey,” Warner Bros. Pictures wrote in its caption.
Centered on the Filipino rock band’s journey to stardom and untimely breakup, the documentary feature would cover the band’s Huling El Bimbo reunion concert in Manila, the challenges they faced before the event, and the untold story of the band’s widely publicized breakup in 2002.
The documentary’s director Maria Diane Ventura said that the feature will provide an “unflinching portrait” of the iconic band that defined an entire generation of listeners, taking a microscopic look into the group’s heart and soul.
The band members Ely Buendia, Raymund Marasigan, Marcus Adoro, and Buddy Zabala will reunite and look back to a place where an entire nation was torn between politics and uncertainty. With everything that was happening in society, the band unknowingly contributed to the shift within Filipino culture. Thus, reframing the narrative of their group’s relationship and impact with Filipinos.
In August 2024, the band received the UP Oblation Gawad Award for contributing to the country and the university.
A month later, the members reunited to headline the 87th Season of UAAP.
The documentary will be premiering nationwide from March 21 to 23, 2025.
