The driver of the vehicle that hit the body of a student who jumped from the LRT-1 Fernando Poe Jr. Station will face the prosecutor for inquest proceedings on Thursday, the Quezon City Police District (PNP) said.

According to QCPD Spokesperson Police Major Jenny Gannaban, the case is under inquest for reckless imprudence resulting in homicide.

“Sa ngayon under custody pa rin po natin ‘yung driver nung sasakyan na nakasagasa nung magkataong tumalon ‘yung estudyante doon sa LRT and inaayos po ‘yung documents para ma-inquest po siya. I-file po natin ‘yung reckless imprudence resulting in homicide,” said police.

On Wednesday, a male college student jumped from a height of around three stories onto the northbound lane of EDSA, where a passing car struck and dragged his body several meters from where he initially landed.

According to the Light Rail Manila Corporation (LRMC), the student was pronounced dead at the scene.
