A student allegedly jumped from a high place on Fernando Poe Jr. Ave. Station along LRT-1, by corner Muñoz, on Wednesday morning.
In an initial investigation by the LRT guards, as police had yet to arrive at the scene, the victim was identified as a student from the Philippine Christian University (PCU), based on the identification card found on him. He was reportedly wearing a uniform, according to a report by RH 5 Val Gonzales.
The victim fell from a height of around three stories. Additionally, MMDA personnel confirmed that his body was dragged by a car a long distance from the spot where he was believed to have landed along the EDSA northbound lane on the way to Balintawak and Monumento.
For a time, the victim was still moving. First responders from a rescue team of a news outlet came to determine whether he was still alive and to attempt to revive him. However, by 10:57 a.m., there were no more attempts to revive him, and he had ceased to move, although the first responder refused to declare him dead.
Four ambulances responded, one from the news outlet rescue team and another from the MMDA’s Road Emergency Group.
A witness, a jeepney caller, said that she saw what she initially thought was a piece of clothing thrown from the LRT station.
The traffic jam along EDSA northbound has grown severe due to the incident.
