“The truth is simple, yes, my father and Mama Kris separated because the spark between them was gone. However, that does not mean my father never loved her. He truly did. Their relationship was real, and he cared deeply for her.”
This was what Miguel Padlan, Dr. Mike Padlan’s son, had to say about the breakup between the latter and Kris Aquino. In a lengthy Facebook post on Tuesday, March 18, Miguel shared his perspective on the now-public breakup. In his post, “A Son’s Love and Truth: Defending My Father’s Honor,” he said that he can no longer stand idle and watch his father’s name be dragged through the mud with false accusations and misleading narratives.
Coming to his father’s defense, he addressed that false stories are being spread about Dr. Padlan.
“It is disheartening to see how some people twist the truth and create baseless narratives that only cause unnecessary drama. I kindly ask everyone to stop spreading lies and fabricating stories that are unfair and misleading,” Miguel wrote.
He continued, confirming the breakup between the two. However, Miguel refuted the claim that his father never loved Kris. Miguel emphasized that their love was real and that his father deeply cared for the former actress. Despite this, he said that love alone is not enough to make a relationship last forever.
“What pains me the most is that during their relationship, my siblings and I often felt neglected because my father was constantly traveling to America to be with Mama Kris. He gave so much of his time and energy to her, even at the cost of his own well-being,” he said.
Although there were times when his father had little to no money left and was losing patients, he remained at Kris’s side. Miguel highlighted that his father never asked the TV personality for anything.
“However, let me make one thing clear-my father never asked her for anything. He never begged for money or gifts. Whatever Mama Kris gave-whether financial support or presents-she did so out of her own kindness and generosity,” he highlighted.
Despite this, Miguel underscored that he still respects Kris because his father truly loved the latter. He asked the public not to spread stories that are untrue, adding that his father’s friends and patients can attest to his character.
“We love you, Mama Kris, and we love our father as well. Family is family. That is why I am here–to support my father and stand by my family,” he ended his statement.
In an Instagram post on Sunday, Kris opened up about her “painful truth,” where she revealed that she and Dr. Padlan have gone their separate ways.
“During this time of uncertainty, I am ready to share MY PAINFUL TRUTH. Time has passed: DR. M did not love me. He chose to leave when my autoimmune conditions were multiplying. In my defense the MD received the correct professional fees- even when we were a couple,” she captioned her post.
