The Department of Health (DOH) on Friday reported 225 additional cases of Omicron COVID-19 subvariants.
In a press briefing, Health Officer-in-Charge Maria Rosario Vergeire said there were 190 new BA.5 cases, 34 more BA.4 infections, and one additional BA.2.12.1 patient based on the latest genome sequencing results.
Of the new BA.5 cases, Vergeire said 162 were from Davao Region, 23 from Soccsksargen, three from the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao, and one each from Caraga and National Capital Region.
The DOH said that 175 of them are now tagged as recovered, seven are still isolating, while the outcome of eight others is still being verified.
Vergeire said 149 of the cases were fully vaccinated against the illness, and four were partially vaccinated, while the status of 37 was being verified.

Out of the additional BA.4 infections, 23 are from Soccsksargen and 11 from Davao Region.
Thirty-three of the BA.4 cases have already recovered, while authorities are still verifying the status of one patient.
BA.2.12.1
According to Vergeire, the sole BA.2.12.1 case was detected in the Davao Region, bringing the total number of cases to 182.
The case was also been tagged as recovered.
