To provide faster triage, the Department of Health (DOH) has opened fast lanes in 19 selected hospitals in the National Capital Region (NCR) for leptospirosis cases as of today, 10 a.m. on Saturday, August 9, 2025.
This is to provide immediate medical attention to leptospirosis patients, ensuring faster diagnosis, treatment, and preventing delays that could worsen their condition.
An assessment is performed to determine whether the patient needs to be admitted to the hospital or not. The patient's risk level is also assessed in the fast lane to provide a prescription for the correct use of doxycycline.
