The Department of Health (DOH) announced on Thursday the upcoming Bakuna Eskuwela program, which has been arranged in partnership with the Department of Education (DepEd).

Through this program, the health department aims to protect school-age children against illnesses which may be avoided with the delivery of jabs.

Public school students in grades 1 and 7 will receive Measles-Rubella and Tetanus-Diphtheria vaccinations, and females in the fourth grade will be administered a Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination, which prevents HPV and cervical cancer.

Bakuna Eskuwela is set to launch in October, for which the DOH has advised parents to ready their children and sign consent forms.
