The Department of Education (DepEd) has launched EduKahon, a standardized school recovery kit aimed at ensuring learning continuity for students and teachers during disasters.

EduKahon is a standardized and ready-to-deploy school recovery kit designed to ensure uninterrupted learning for teachers and students even in times of calamities.

“Our students and teachers are the first to be affected during disasters. Through EduKahon, we ensure that learning continues and that children’s progress will not be disrupted despite the circumstances,” Education Secretary Sonny Angara said during the launch at Tabaco National High School in Albay on Thursday, August 28.

EduKahon will be distributed in three levels: a School Kit for the recovery of schools and temporary learning spaces, a Teacher Kit to support classroom instruction, and a Learner Kit to provide students with access to basic learning materials.

Each kit contains essential supplies that can replace damaged school resources and includes teaching aids for use in evacuation centers and temporary classrooms.

DepEd Undersecretary and Chief of Staff Fatima Lipp Panontongan emphasized that the initiative, under the guidance of President Marcos, focuses not only on learning continuity but also on the safety of students and teachers.

To further strengthen the program, EduKahon will also be integrated into the Adopt-a-School Program, allowing private partners and donors to help in the preparation and distribution of kits.
