The Bureau of Quarantine (BOQ) announced on Friday, Oct. 21, that One Health Pass (OHP) has been replaced with an online electronic platform eArrival card for travelers.
This comes after some lawmakers and government agencies raised concerns that OHP’s screening system has caused inconvenience and burden, especially for Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs).
"In response to the IATF directive, the One Health Pass is officially replaced with the electronic ARRIVAL CARD (eARRIVAL CARD)," the BOQ said in a statement posted on its website.
Starting November 1, all travelers are required to fill up the eArrival CARD within 72 hours before departure to avoid inconvenience upon arrival in the airport.
BOQ said passengers would only be asked of the following: travel details, vaccination, personal information, and health declaration.
It said registration is free and no payment is required.
The BOQ warned the public to beware of "fake, fraudulent, or scam websites and entities who require payment from the travelers."
Meanwhile, the Malacañang welcomed the new platform for travelers.
"Bilang bahagi ng layunin ng administrasyon ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos na pasiglahin muli ang turismo sa bansa, pinalitan na ang dating One Health Pass ng mas madali at mas mabilis na eArrival card system," the Office of the Press Secretary said in a Facebook post.
Health officer-in-charge (OIC) Maria Rosario Vergeire, on the other hand, said with the implementation of the eArrival Card, they look forward that delays would be reduced and inconveniences being eliminated for travelers.
"We likewise aim to support the tourism sector in the country while ensuring the health and safety of both foreigners and Filipino travelers," she added.
