The Department of Health (DOH) has adjusted the target coverage for booster vaccination from 50 percent to 30 percent for PinasLakas campaign, Health officer-in-charge Maria Rosario Vergeire announced Thursday, Sept. 22.
In a statement, Vergeire said they have adjusted the target for the first 100 days of Marcos’ administration only.
“Even so, this does not mean we will be lax in our efforts and settle for just reaching 30 percent,” she added.
The campaign’s target by the end of the year remains at 50 percent, Vergeire noted.
“We are doubling down on our campaign to reach and even surpass our target of 30% by Oct. 8 and 50% by the end of the year,” she said.
Vergeire said they continue to work with government agencies to target specific sectors and encourage individuals to receive their booster jabs by providing them incentives.
The health undersecretary reported the National Capital Region (NCR) already reached the 50 percent target booster vaccine coverage.
As of Sept. 21, DOH data showed that almost 71.5 million have been fully vaccinated nationwide, and almost 19.1 million have received their booster shot.
