During the Q&A portion, Mate was asked about the values she believes are most important to society and why she thinks they are significant.
Mate expressed that the most important value society should embrace is kindness. She shared her experience in Bolivia, where Latinas showed her immense kindness and love, despite the racial differences.
She also noted that although they didn't speak the same language, they shared the same culture, heart, and faith in God.
Mate hopes this message encourages others to use kindness as a way to foster unity and create a better world and society for everyone.
Before claiming the crown, Mate gained early recognition by being named "Mejor Traje Tipico" (Best in National Costume) during the pageant's auxiliary competition.
Her stunning "Banaag" costume showcased a gown embellished with gold Mindanao Okkir patterns. It was beautifully paired with a salakot headpiece and accessories, including a feather pen and a lamp, adding to its cultural significance and elegance.
