The Department of Budget and Management (DBM) released a P69.4 billion fund for government employees to receive their year-end bonus and cash gift starting today, Nov. 15.
According to the statement issued by the DBM, P45.3 billion was allotted for the year-end bonus of civilian personnel, while P15.2 billion was allotted for military and uniformed personnel.
Moreover, the agency said that its office also allocated P8.9 billion to distribute the cash gift to more than 1.7 million government workers.
In DBM Budget Circular No. 2016-2017, government workers who have worked in the service for at least four months from January 1 to October 31 of the current year and stayed in the government service as of October 31 are qualified to have the year-end bonus and cash gift.
Additionally, the circular stated that the year-end bonus is equal to one month of the basic pay as of October 31, while the cash gift is worth P5,000.
