The COVID-19 cases in Metro Manila have peaked, but infections could spread to other provinces, according to the OCTA Research on Saturday, Dec. 23.
OCTA Research fellow Dr. Guido David earlier projected that the peak infections in the Metro would occur along with a probability that things could change.
Despite the projected peak of cases, David posted on X (formerly Twitter) that the infections are “likely to spread to other provinces.”
NCR Covid-19 positivity rate went up from 18.4% on Dec 14 to 22.4% on Dec 21, 2023. Infections seem to be peaking as per projections. However, infections are likely to spread to other provinces. #covid19 #CovidIsntOver @dzbb @DrTonyLeachon pic.twitter.com/w8jD6lG9ox

When an X user asked if lockdowns would be possible given the trajectory of COVID-19 cases, the OCTA Research fellow allayed the worries by replying “None.”
