The COVID-19 testing positivity rate in the National Capital Region (NCR) increased to 22 percent from 16 percent on Dec. 12 to Dec. 19, according to the OCTA Research on Thursday, Dec. 21.
OCTA Research fellow Dr. Guido David said the present trajectory would suggest that the peak infections in Metro Manila would happen next week but proposed a caveat that everything could still change.

David also showed the distribution of active COVID-19 cases in the country, with the majority being mild or asymptomatic at 63 percent while 22 percent were severe and critical cases.
He also added the fatality rate of COVID-19 in the country this year was 0.34 percent or one in three hundred.
