Senator Imee Marcos reacted to the change in House leadership following the resignation of her cousin, Leyte 1st District Rep. Martin Romualdez, as Speaker of the House of Representatives.

“‘BONJING OUT BODJIE IN,’” the senator said in a social media post.

Romualdez was replaced by Isabela 6th District Rep. Faustino “Bojie” Dy III after garnering 253 votes.

The former Speaker’s resignation comes after months of scrutiny over alleged budget insertions and questionable flood control allocations under the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).

In his speech, he said he made the move to protect the independence of an ongoing probe into alleged irregularities in government infrastructure projects.
