The application for groups intending to run as a political party and party-list groups for the May 2025 polls is now open, the Commission on Election (Comelec) announced on Sunday, Aug. 28.
In an advisory released, Comelec acting spokesperson John Rex Laudiangco said the registration of verified petitions will be from Monday to Friday, from 8 am to 5 pm, except on holidays.
The application will be filed to the Office of the Clerk of the Commission (OCOC), Laudiangco said this is compliant with Comelec Resolution No. 10673.
"Please be informed that the clerk of the Commission of Election has started receiving verified petitions for registration for a political party or coalition parties; or a national, regional, sectoral, party-list group or organization," he said.
