Suspects who allegedly stole a car and tried selling it on Facebook Marketplace were arrested.
The Southern Police District (SPD) reported that a black Toyota Alphard was left parked in front of a convenience store in Barangay Tambo, Parañaque when it was stolen on Saturday, June 29.
A Malaysian national informed police the said vehicle was listed for sale on Facebook for P2.8 million. In cooperation with the SPD, he pretended to be a buyer and arranged to meet with the seller in a Pasay City mall at 11:50 PM on Wednesday, July 3.
Two of the suspects found at the meeting spot were arrested. The driver of the stolen vehicle escaped.
One other accomplice was captured after having been pursued in Barangay Sto. Niño, Parañaque City. Law enforcement confiscated his 9mm pistol and two magazines of ammunition.
The driver who left the vehicle by the store admitted he had meant to leave it unattended.
An investigation on the case is underway, alongside efforts to recover the vehicle.
